At the Louvre!

The Department of French at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is pleased to offer a professional development program for teachers at the Louvre Museum, and at additional Parisian museums this summer.  This program takes you on an unforgettable journey across the City of Lights and its museums, guided by art historians and museum specialists.  Come join us!

The course is a 3-credit, master-level class that provides a foundation for teaching French languages and cultures with art in K-16 classrooms.  The course takes place in Paris from July 18 to July 29, 2016.  This class is a unique opportunity to learn about art history and visual culture, and to practice intercultural mediation and high-leverage techniques for your classroom.

The program is open to all teachers of French, pre-service teachers enrolled in a school of education, retired, and francophone educators.  No formal knowledge of art hisoty is required.
