Susan has earned a total of three Master’s degrees:
- an MA in Spanish at New Mexico State University
- an MS in National Security at the US Naval War College
- MA in International Relations with German language at The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Relations.
In addition, she holds an International Diploma in the Russian Language. Susan began her linguistic career while a US Army Officer as a Foreign Area Specialist in the regions of the Soviet Union, East Europe, and Latin America. Upon retiring from the Army, Susan began her teaching career at Mount Saint Joseph High School where she taught Spanish and was the World Language Department Chair for thirteen years. Susan recently retired for the second time and is presently an Adjunct Professor in the World Language Department of Anne Arundel Community College. Susan is an active member of a number of professional organizations, such as ACTFL, AATG, AATSP, ACTR, NECTFL (Advisory Council), and, of course, MFLA. Susan is often a presenter at these association conferences when she isn’t busy with her four children and three grandchildren.
