Caroline Schlegel is a Spanish Teacher in Washington County Maryland. After graduating from Salisbury University with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Secondary Education, she began her career in the 2007-2008 school year in Wicomico County Maryland. She spent 9 years at Parkside High School before moving across the state to serve the students in Washington County. She currently teaches Spanish at Smithsburg High School in Smithsburg, Maryland. Dedicated to leadership within the field of education, Caroline received her Master’s degree in 2016 in Educational Leadership from Salisbury University and has her Admin 1 & 2 Certificates. Caroline is a passionate educator committed to her students, professional development, and advocating for new teachers in our profession. She was recognized as the 2018 Maryland World Language Teacher of the Year and is excited to continue her language learning, teaching, and advocating journey through service to the MFLA Board.
