After graduating from the College of William & Mary with a B.A. in English and a minor in Hispanic Studies, Cassie spent two years as a North American Language and Culture Assistant in Sevilla, Spain. With an interest sparked in teaching, she began a Master’s in Education at George Mason University. For four years she taught English for Speakers of Other Languages in Virginia before moving to Maryland in 2014. Since then, she has been teaching Spanish at North County High School and is currently pursuing her National Board Certification. Cassie has presented at the NECTFL and MFLA conferences on collaborative planning and critical thinking in novice language classrooms, respectively.  She is excited to join the MFLA Board and to promote language learning beyond her classroom.
